Sloman Wedding

We got to witness the marriage of our good friends Garrett and Dani this last Friday, July 24 near Rochester, MN. I didn't get any great pictures of the new wedded couple, but I did get some great ones of some of our friends.

First up, Paul and Mandy.

Next, Gillian and John (they're getting hitched in September).

And lastly, our lovely family. It's the end of the night and I look pooped. Oddly enough, Carissa was the Energizer Bunny that night.

The Younger Birthday Girl

We had Carissa's first birthday party this last weekend. Lots of family and friends came out to our house to help us celebrate. Carissa had a blast.

Birthday Girl

Today is a special day. It's Argentina's Independence Day (h/t to Mike).

Well, it also the day my lovely wife was born. Christina's parents graciously watched Carissa tonight so we could go out to dinner to celebrate. The birthday girl let me get a picture.

For Carissa's first Fourth of July, we decided to just stay home and do some simple fireworks ourselves. I had planned to just do some fountains, but the first one I got turned out to not be a fountain, but rather "flaming balls with report". Let's just say, Carissa screamed, a lot, and I felt bad. Here's some photos of the fountains.

We're Home!

I was so excited to get home I forgot to post anything for Day 7. Oops!

It was great trip but it was nice to be back in our own beds. We got a lot of great photos from the trip. I quickly picked out some and have them on Picasa. Here are a few as a preview.

Day 6

Today was spent in the car again, about 450 miles, driving from Casper, WY to Kearney, NE. We did get to drive along part of the Oregon Trail and see Chimney Rock and Jail and Courthouse Rocks.

Carissa is doing great in the car but she loves to get out and stretch her legs.

Day 5

Today we finished Yellowstone by visiting Old Faithful. After leaving Yellowstone, we drove through the Grand Teton National Park on our way to Casper, WY. We stopped by the lake to stretch out legs.
